Friday Means Pie Day in 2026!!

At the beginning of this month we began a yearlong journey in honor of The United States' semiquincentennial. For fifty weeks we are baking one pie a week, showcasing the flavors, stories and traditions of each of the fifty states.Our excitement for this project has been amplified by friends, B&B guests and community members in these first few weeks as we have put a spotlight on Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Georgia. Guests at BEE enjoy pie on Friday afternoons and all of us are learning new and interesting things as we celebrate America 250!

Full Up Fall!

Today is a bit rainy on the mountain - but the views from the windows elicit a smile as the various fall colors paint Mentone in a beautiful way. In the past few weeks guests have been experiencing all the adventures that make Lookout Mountain and the surrounding area special.

January Snow Weekend!

The first snow of 2025 has been a bit less than forecasted (so three inches rather than eight!), but the views from the windows are beautiful and for those who venture out, the roads are being safely maintained. Inside the B&B fresh hot cocoa and other goodies make puzzle working or reading seems extra enjoyable. Breakfast this morning featured a seasonally appropriate Butternut Squash and Almond Oatmeal Bake and Walnut and Dark Chocolate Chunk Cookies are at the refreshment bar this afternoon.

Summer is in Full Swing!

Summer season means camp drop off/pick-ups as well as a huge selection of outdoor hiking and activities for couples celebrating a special date or just embracing a Mentone vacation. The days are long and the sunsets spectacular in the evening. At the B&B we are watching our largest peach tree (heavy with fruit just outside the kitchen window) and anticipating Peach Breakfast Brioche or Peach Pie made from OUR OWN peaches - mid July is our guess. No bear sightings lately, but we have a momma silver fox and two kits about as well as our resident groundhogs and many, many deer.

Happy New Year 2024

We welcome the new year with hopeful and happy hearts! Winter views on Lookout Mountain offer beauty and an opportuinty to be reflective and to sit still and "bee" in the moment. Guests are hiking and enjoying cozy options inside (the puzzle room has had much activity this week!) The common thread is that there is peace to soak in and memories to be made. We are grateful for what 2023 provided and grateful looking forward to all that 2024 will be.

Fall is Fast Approaching

With August in the rear view mirror we are beginning to anticipate falls days in Mentone. Lookout Mountain during the autumn months is special... nature shows off its beauty and the local area is bustling with events like Follow your Art September 3rd at Moon Lake Village, Boom Days in Fort Payne Sept 16-18, Vintage Pickin October 7-8th in Ft Payne and Colorfest in Mentone October 15-16. All of this against the backdrop of mountain wildlife and flora.
